What is Chainmaille

STRENGTH IN EVERY LINK

Chainmaille (historically called mail or maille) was and is a type of flexible armor made from thousands of small metal rings linked together in a pattern.

One link at a time.

Every ring is opened, woven, connected and closed by hand creating something stronger than the individual pieces could ever be alone.

Made slowly. Made by hand. Made to last

WEAR YOUR STRENGTH

Ward & Wander is a collection of one-of-a-kind jewellery, handmade from sterling silver, natural gemstones, opals and chainmaille.

No two pieces are intended to be exactly alike. Each one is made individually, following whatever stone, idea or technique inspires me next.

But Ward & Wander is also personal.

The last few years have changed me in ways I never expected. Somewhere amongst the hard chapters, I found myself coming back to making things with my hands, working with silver, stones and chainmaille, and slowly creating something beautiful from something raw.

Making has become part of my own journey back to myself.

Ward represents strength, protection and the things we choose to hold close.

Wander represents growth, change and continuing forward, even when we don't know exactly where we're going.

Every piece is a little reminder of that journey.
